The grid, the bank, the oil field and the hospital all run on software now. NACOS Week 2027 puts the people who build that software in the same rooms as the people who run those industries.
NACOS Week is the flagship week of NACOS AKSU, the Nigeria Association of Computing Students at Akwa Ibom State University. The Computer Science department has hosted it for over a decade. In 2027 the Faculty of Computing and Information Technology hosts it, and the week is open to every student at AKSU, whatever their faculty.
Every pillar of the week, from the hackathon briefs to the Tech Conference panels, is organised around five tracks: four sectors that shape the economy of the Niger Delta and the country, and the technology that runs through all of them.
Power generation, distribution and metering. Where data meets the grid.
Banking, payments and fintech. Software that moves money and earns trust.
Exploration, operations and safety. The industry this region is built on.
Records, diagnostics and access to care. Computing that keeps people well.
Software, AI and cybersecurity. The craft every other track builds on.
Track partners set the real problem statements for the hackathon. Partners are being confirmed.
Day-by-day timings are published once the programme is approved. The pillars are set.
